Today, I have a speaking club. I’ve already prepared quotes and idioms, as well as a few dozen contradictions to build a discussion. Here they are:
attractive/disgusting
smart/silly
polite/rude

flexible/stubborn
chaotic/structured
love/hate
fresh/stale
funny/sad
dull/exciting

focused/defused

sweet/bitter
So, my plan is to start by pointing out the four dimensions of communication: what, how, intention and value. Then, we either go on discussing these dimensions or use the contradictions to talk about them. Finally, I’m gonna make short video interviews with the participants asking them the following questions:
1. How was it going? Can you briefly describe the event?
2. What would you tell to those who think about coming to our club?
3. What was your favorite topic we talked about on our meetings?
4. What kind of impact the club made on your life?
5. If you had just one word to describe what’s usually going on here, what would it be?
